Fabricom Talent Spotting

Employers can instinctively recognise a job applicant being ‘right’ for them, likewise ITEC staff often intuitively feel which learners will suit particular employers.  ITEC’s Business Development Consultants engage with a wide variety of employers developing an understanding of business and recruitment needs enabling them to submit really strong candidates.

Suzanne Evans (BDC) at ITEC’s Gateshead training centre interviews learners prior to sumitting CV’s to local employers.  Interviewing Ashley Beaumont and Joshua Shepherdson revealed both had real potential and would be an asset to any potential employer.  Dean Russell, HR Manager at Fabicom Offshore Services, based at Quorum Business Park, Newcastle, contacted Suzanne with two vacancies and Joshua and Ashley were two of the individuals shortlisted for interview.

Dean now counts Ashley (17) and Joshua (18) as valued employees, he says, “Both Ashley and Josua have proven to be excellent employees, their attitude and enthusiasm has facilitated their integration into the team and they have made significant progress in both their departmental placements and NVQ Level 2 studies.  I have been very pleased with the quality of candidates submitted by ITEC and the support and service we have received from Suzanne.”

In just five months they’ve proved to be hard-working and well on course to gain Apprenticeships in recognition of their changing job roles.  As a subsiduary of the global energy group Fabricom GDF Suez and a UK market leader providing professional services to the oil, gas and power industries, Ashley and Josh are coming to terms with the importance of company procedures to meet the requirements of legislation and their clients.  Time spent in various departments is developing their strengths, working within the costing department has highlighted Josh’s numeracy skills and Ashley is gaining a real understanding of document control.

Leaving school, then time at college confirmed Ashley and Josh favoured vocational qualifications and as part of Fabricom’s new generation of employees they will be given whole-hearted support to become experienced and qualified individuals.
