IT Users

Apprenticeships & NVQ’s Level 2 & 3
(available as funded and non-funded)

IT User skills are required for over 72% of job roles with over 90% of new posts specifically requiring IT user skills. IT systems, communications, productivity tools, increased security and data protection are all key drivers for up-skilling the workforce. Job roles requiring IT User skills include - persoanl assistant, office support, application helpdesk support, website design or technician, publishing or multimedia assistant, sales and marketing executive, teaching assistant or school administrator. Progression will require an in-depth knowledge and competence in the use of particular systems and software, as well as wide-ranging transferable skills and the ability to develop and test solutions to improve workplace productivity through the use of IT.

To gain an NVQ you need to show you have certain skills and working with our staff you will find the best way to gain new ones - perhaps by trying new things at work, or by studying. NVQ's are asessed at work or in a simulated workplace. For each unit your assessor watches and asks questions as you perform a task, or looks at a portfolio of work that you've built as formal evidence of your learning. As you progress your skills and knowledge will steadily increase.

If you would like to discuss whether this NVQ is appropriate for your current role or with a view to career progression, please contact your local ITEC North East Business Development Consultant.
